Math Camp

STJ Summer Math Camp For Incoming Freshmen

The goal of St. Joseph High School Incoming Math Camp is to develop and reinforce the math skills in targeted areas for Algebra I. The camp will introduce students to several concepts needed in Algebra I (and other math courses) that will improve and enhance their math abilities and make the transition to high school math easier and less stressful for the upcoming year. The camp will be for four weeks, three days a week for 90 minutes per day. The camp will be taught by Mr. Donald Blank, STJ math instructor. The cost of the camp is $75 per student per session. 

Camp Times and Topics
Session 1: June 4-6 • 1:00 - 2:30 pm • Topic: Order of operations and working with positive and negative numbers. 

Session 2: June 18-20 • 1:00-2:30 pm • Topic: Solving equations. Moving from simple to multi-step equations. 

Session 3: June 25-27 • 1:00-2:30 pm • Topic: Exponent rules. Working with positive and negative exponents. 

Session 4: July 9-11 • 1:00-2:30 pm • Topic: Graphing lines, writing equations of lines, and working with fractions. 

Students are asked to bring pencils and a folder with notebook paper. The folder will be used to keep notes and any handouts.
