St. Joseph High School has been accredited by the State of Texas since 1939.  The Texas Catholic Conference Education Department (TCCED) supervises and directs the accreditation process through the Diocesan Superintendent of Catholic Schools.  Accreditation with the Southern Association of Colleges of Schools (SACS) was received in 1987.

During the 2007- 2008 school year, St. Joseph High School participated in a self-study process to continue its accreditation.  STJ was visited in March 2008 by representatives from TCCED and SACS, who then verified its accreditation status.  St. Joseph's received very positive and laudatory feedback on through both  verbal and written reports from both agencies.
