Mr. Maj became the President/Principal of St. Joseph High School on August 1, 2016. He previously served as president of Central Catholic High School in Toledo, Ohio. Prior to that he was the president of Catholic Central and West Catholic High Schools of the Diocese of Grand Rapids, Michigan. He has also served as principal and assistant principal for schools in the Diocese of Grand Rapids.

Mrs. Gretchen Boyle has taught English at St. Joseph High School since the fall of 1986.  

Why do you like teaching at St. Joseph High School? 
I graduated from STJ in 1982 and was happy to come back as a teacher and work to keep its mission strong. Catholic education is a wonderful asset to the student as well as to our community.

Mrs. Terese Arnecke '92 has seven years experience in public accounting, three years as a bank officer at First Victoria National Bank and six years as a lead accountant in private industry. She has been the business manager at St. Joseph High School since 2013. 

What do you like about working at St. Joseph High School? 
Working at STJ is very upbeat and I appreciate that it is family oriented.

Coach Hall has been teaching and coaching since 1982 and has been a head football coach since 1990. He has led 5 teams to State Championship games, winning State in 2005.

What do you like about teaching at St. Joseph High School?
I am very excited about this opportunity at St Joseph High School. Along with a very rich tradition of excellence, I sense a community that feels like family and am excited that as we work together we will continue to be a model of excellence! 

Bryan Jones

Mr. Bryan Jones has always been a sports enthusiast. He began coaching as an AAU basketball coach for 4 years prior to volunteering for the Our Lady of Victory football and basketball teams. In 2012 he began coaching football, basketball and track for St. Joseph High School. He also was an accomplished UIL and TASO football and basketball official for 14 years. Jones began his teaching career with the Victoria ISD in 2015, and he joined St. Joseph High School in 2016 as the assistant athletic director, teacher and coach.

What do like about teaching and coaching at St. Joseph High School?
I am excited to be a part of the St. Joseph staff because it offers me the opportunity to work with the finest faculty and student body in all of Victoria. The strong work ethic and high expectations shared by all members of the St. Joseph community, coupled with our Christian commitment, make it a community destined for greatness. My own daughter is a product of St. Joseph High School and I am proud of the young lady she became in her years here. It is my hope that in my role at STJ, I will be able to be a part of shaping future Flyers into confident leaders who enter their next phase of life with a strong foundation and destined for success.

Mrs. Shandee Harrell has served as the Director of Development at Rogers State University in Claremore, Oklahoma, and Director of Communications and Education for several local, state and national associations throughout her career. She started working at St. Joseph High School in July 2006.

Mrs. Jen Korinek has worked as a recruiter and in public relations for TEKsystems in Austin, and has taught 5th grade at VISD. She began working at St. Joseph High School as the admissions coordinator 2011.
 
Why do you like about working at St. Joseph High School?
St. Joseph High School provides a nurturing, safe and challenging environment to work in and for students to learn and grow.  By following Catholic principles and focusing on morals and values, St. Joseph guides it's students and faculty and fosters mutual respect between the two.  I am blessed to be a part of the St. Joseph family.

Mrs. Valerie McDaniel began teaching in the Victoria Independent School District in 1974. She has been at St. Joseph High School since 1990. 

What do you like about working at St. Joseph High School? 
In the classroom, I loved being able to push my students to a higher level than is normally found in a public school class. Now in the position of Registrar, I enjoy working with families who have common goals for their children in an atmosphere that fosters academic, spiritual, and behavioral growth

Mrs. Ann Brogger started working at VISD as a paraprofessional in 1998 while attending college. She went on to teach computers, speech, and video technology at Memorial High School Senior campus until the end of 2004. At that time she began working as a tutor and adjunct instructor at Victoria College. She then served as the director of the Student Services Department at Victoria College. She has been the counselor at St. Joseph High School since 2012. 

What do you like about working at St. Joseph High School? 
I love working at St. Joseph High School because it does not feel like a job. The students become an important part of our lives. I feel like I truly have the opportunity to help impact the lives of the wonderful young people I work with.  To me, my position carries with it the ultimate reward!

Murray Carson

Mr. Murray Carson began as the Facilities Director at St. Joseph High School in 2016. He has worked in the Refining, Manufacturing and Transportation (RMT) Industry since 1991. During that time, he held various roles including buyer, warehouse and purchasing manager, turnaround project planner, logistics manager, welder, carpenter and electrician apprentice.
