John Gilley
President

Mr. Gilley became the President of St. Joseph High School on May 1, 2019. He graduated from STJ in 2003 and is a fourth generation alumni of the school. Gilley has a bachelor's of science degree from Texas State University.

Mrs. Terese Arnecke '92 has seven years experience in public accounting, three years as a bank officer at First Victoria National Bank and six years as a lead accountant in private industry. She has been the business manager at St. Joseph High School since 2013. 

What do you like about working at St. Joseph High School? 
Working at STJ is very upbeat and I appreciate that it is family oriented.

Mrs. Schott taught undergraduate English and composition courses while in graduate school at SMU (2009-2013). She has also taught high school at Ursuline Academy of Dallas (2014-2017). She joined the faculty at St. Joseph High School in 2017. 

WHAT AM I LOOKING FORWARD TO BY WORKING AT STJ?
I am excited to join such a strong, supportive community that provides an excellent academic environment for its students and faculty. My pedagogy centers on teaching students how to approach critically reading, writing, and thinking about the world around them, and I believe STJ will be the ideal setting in which I can best help my students thrive.

Mrs. Shandee Harrell has served as the Director of Development at Rogers State University in Claremore, Oklahoma, and Director of Communications and Education for several local, state and national associations throughout her career. She started working at St. Joseph High School in July 2006. 

What do you like about working at St. Joseph High School? 
At STJ, the atmosphere for students, faculty and staff is like family. I appreciate this and believe it is one of the greatest assets of our learning community. I also appreciate that STJ provides families in Victoria, Texas an opportunity to get a quality education in a safe environment.

Mrs. Jen Korinek has worked as a recruiter and in public relations for TEKsystems in Austin, and has taught 5th grade at VISD. She began working at St. Joseph High School as the admissions coordinator 2011.
 
What do you like about working at St. Joseph High School?
St. Joseph High School provides a nurturing, safe and challenging environment to work in and for students to learn and grow.  By following Catholic principles and focusing on morals and values, St. Joseph guides its students and faculty and fosters mutual respect between the two.  I am blessed to be a part of the St. Joseph family.

Bachelor of Science in Interdisciplinary Studies - Lamar University, Beaumont, TX

Mr. Bryan Jones has always been a sports enthusiast. He began coaching as an AAU basketball coach for 4 years prior to volunteering for the Our Lady of Victory football and basketball teams. In 2012 he began coaching football, basketball and track for St. Joseph High School. He also was an accomplished UIL and TASO football and basketball official for 14 years. Jones began his teaching career with the Victoria ISD in 2015, and he joined St. Joseph High School in 2016 as the assistant athletic director, teacher and coach.

What do like about teaching and coaching at St. Joseph High School?
I am excited to be a part of the St. Joseph staff because it offers me the opportunity to work with the finest faculty and student body in all of Victoria. The strong work ethic and high expectations shared by all members of the St. Joseph community, coupled with our Christian commitment, make it a community destined for greatness. My own daughter is a product of St. Joseph High School and I am proud of the young lady she became in her years here. It is my hope that in my role at STJ, I will be able to be a part of shaping future Flyers into confident leaders who enter their next phase of life with a strong foundation and destined for success.

Mr. Michael Boyle started teaching in 1966 at St. Joseph High School. From 1968 to 1972 he taught at Colegio Santa Maria in Lima, Peru. Besides learning Spanish on the job in Peru, he has studied Spanish at St. Mary’s University in San Antonio, and in language schools in Lima and in Cochabamba, Bolivia. During 1973 and 1974, he taught at Mount Sacred Boys’ School in San Antonio and studied for his Master’s degree in English from St. Mary’s University. In 1975, he returned to St Joseph High School and has been teaching here ever since. In addition to his teaching responsibilities, he also served as assistant principal in charge of discipline from 1979 to 1989.

During the summers between 1976 and 1986, he traveled extensively in Europe, especially in Spain and France, and has taken summer French language courses in France, Switzerland and Canada.

Mrs. Ann Brogger started working at VISD as a paraprofessional in 1998 while attending college. She went on to teach computers, speech, and video technology at Memorial High School Senior campus until the end of 2004. At that time she began working as a tutor and adjunct instructor at Victoria College. She then served as the director of the Student Services Department at Victoria College. She has been the counselor at St. Joseph High School since 2012. 

What do you like about working at St. Joseph High School? 
I love working at St. Joseph High School because it does not feel like a job. The students become an important part of our lives. I feel like I truly have the opportunity to help impact the lives of the wonderful young people I work with.  To me, my position carries with it the ultimate reward!

Mrs. Jennifer Carson graduated from St. Joseph High School in 1991. In 2012 she joined the STJ staff as a member of the Advancement team. She moved into the position of registrar in 2018. 

 

What do you like about working at St. Joseph HIgh School? 

St. Joseph High School was an integral part in shaping the person I am today. I am proud to be a part of the Flyer Family and enjoy my role in supporting STJ's mission.
